The position is a union role that requires the ability to work all three shifts. The essential function of the job involves laying out work, building and repairing tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and parts under the direction of supervisory personnel or from written or verbal instructions, blueprints, and sketches. The role includes building and overhauling machinery, setting up and operating all tool room machines to specified tolerances, and using machinist’s hand and power tools and measuring instruments. The employee will also perform necessary mathematical calculations and may be required to conduct welding, brazing, and heat treating operations. Additionally, those serving as CNC Operators will set up their own work and tooling, make alignment checks, set tooling offsets or trims, inspect their own work, and monitor machining operations to prevent tool crashes due to programming errors and other unplanned situations.
