Sofidel America of Duluth is currently seeking End of Line Associate to join our converting team. We are searching for a candidate that is local to the area and is looking for a long-term career in a stable environment with opportunities for growth. We are building careers within our new operations, and this role is a pivotal operations role that supports daily production. This role has a starting pay of $20.80 an hour and after on the job training is completed the wage can move to $21.84 an hour. This role is eligible for the 3.5% production quarterly bonus program.

  • Safely perform various duties to operate, set up and maintain manual and automatic equipment and processes.
  • Produce a finished product that meets customer and company requirements in execution of daily production schedule according to the SOP for the palletizer, LGV Labeler and stretch wrapper.
  • Evaluate the process and make corrections and/or suggestions to meet the company objectives.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and productive environment.
  • Support the Converting Production by completing duties related to packaging and end of line finished goods manufacturing.
  • Participate in operating the converting equipment to meet the production goal established for the line in a safe manner.
  • Ensure packaging and stacking equipment is operating efficiently.
  • Meet all compliance company safety policies and all product's manufactured specifications for our customer.
  • Perform quality checks and audits with honesty and integrity to ensure compliance with published standards.
  • Notify the shift supervisor and appropriate management of any non-conforming product.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the operating area and equipment to minimize risk of contamination.
  • Keep aisles, stairways, and walkways free of obstacles, spills, and debris; clean up spills immediately and report as necessary.
  • Ensure tools are in proper working order, stored correctly, and never left on equipment.
  • Operate primary and/or secondary packaging equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Read and understand production schedules, work orders, manuals, and specifications to operate equipment correctly.
  • Set up equipment effectively to achieve optimal performance and run machinery at maximum efficiency.
  • Perform regular inspections and evaluations of equipment condition, including safety guards and systems.
  • Conduct basic maintenance, submit work orders for unresolved issues, and collaborate with maintenance to prevent technical problems.
  • Record productivity and quality data accurately on a shift basis.
  • Eliminate waste in raw materials and production activities wherever possible.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and support implementation of best practices.
  • Utilize LEAN manufacturing techniques to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with the quality department to support the quality management system.
  • Assist and advise management regarding training needs and requirements.
  • Support and maintain a workplace culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or six (6) to twelve (12) months experience manufacturing inventory and purchasing and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SAP experience is a must.
  • Ability to work in a cross functionally across departments and in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks as needed with strong time-management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to learn and certify on overhead crane machinery.
  • Starting pay of $20.80 an hour, increasing to $21.84 after training.
  • Eligible for a 3.5% production quarterly bonus program.
