About The Position
Manual Machinist Come join a top awarded company in the USA for the past 3 years! Shift: Work hours are subject to change & will be determined by workload and shift coverage needs. Typically, Day Shift will start at 5:00AM or 7am and end at 3:30PM; Typically, Night Shift will start at 3:30PM and will end at 12am or 2am. C o mpany Overview: Sulzer Turbo Services (STS) is an independent provider of services and repairs of critical turbomachinery. We specialize in the repair, overhaul, and replacement of parts for high-speed rotating equipment such as steam and gas turbines, compressors, expanders, and other industrial rotating equipment found primarily in the Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Petrochemical, Ammonia, Nitric Acid, Fertilizer and Power Generation markets. P osition Su mmary: A Machinist is a professional that uses different techniques to create and make very precise metal parts . A machinist should be able to operate and maintain industrial machines, produce precision tools, interpret technical drawings and instructions, and ensure safety and quality standards . A machinist also needs to have manual dexterity, and eye for detail, knowledge of mathematics and mechanics, and respect for safety precautions.
Requirements
- Experience as a Manual machinist
- Experience with both CNC with manual experience
- Field machinist
Responsibilities
- Work closely and clearly communicate with the other departments, Machine personnel, Supervisor, and Lead Man
- Capable of setting up & operating all machines in the shop (including large mills, lathes, tool post grinders, and other equipment)
- Operate manual and automatic feeds to 0.0002” as required for final cuts
- Complete assigned jobs start to finish with little or no supervision. This includes the ability to perform the following:
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches that may require intermediate math and problems solving skills to calculate dimensions not specified on print.
- Have and maintain ability to use and operate the overhead cranes, torches, grinders and forklifts
- Maintain LEAN objectives within the department
