Efficiently utilizes resources to minimize scrap, materials, and labor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 year certificate from a technical school or an accredited journeyman program; and a preferred 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Effectively able to present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angles, and volume
  • Knowledge of basic concepts of geometry
  • Ability to apply a common sense approach and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Responsibilities

  • Capable of machining experimental configurations per specifications supplied by management in a timely fashion
  • Working knowledge and or training/education of vertical Milling machines (Manual & CNC), engine lathes, vertical band saw
  • Works with management to provide data on blueprint, bill of material, set-up sheet, or routing errors related to design issues to facilitate engineering updates
  • Works with minimal supervision to accurately accomplish any given task
  • Assists others as required
