About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Manual Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in operating manual lathes, mills, and related shop equipment, with a strong commitment to precision, safety, and quality workmanship. This position requires the ability to work independently, interpret technical drawings, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist (or proven skills to match)
• Strong knowledge of machining processes and materials
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection procedures
• Strong math and problem-solving skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Nice To Haves

• Experience with basic CNC operation (a plus, not required)
• Welding or fabrication experience also helpful
• Experience in a job-shop or custom manufacturing environment
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production schedule
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet production deadlines

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and related shop equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
• Perform accurate measurements using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges
• Verify dimensions and maintain tolerances within required specs
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds
• Maintain equipment and keep the work area clean and organized
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments as needed
• Collaborate with assembly, welding, and engineering teams
• Adhere to all safety standards, procedures, and company policies
