About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our team. This position is perfect for candidates with hands-on experience who enjoy working in a dynamic, manufacturing-based environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that our parts meet strict quality standards. A Manual Machinist in the Tool & Die Division is responsible for precision machining, fitting, and finishing of tool, die, and mold components. This role requires hands-on experience with manual lathes, mills, grinders, and hand tools to produce, repair, and maintain high-precision tooling used in stamping, forming, or molding operations. The machinist will work closely with toolmakers, Machinists, and other production personnel at IGS Industries Inc. and AccuDie to ensure tools meet strict tolerances and function reliably in production. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and/or relevant work experience.
  • Become Tow Motor certified though IGS – must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical/technical aptitude.
  • Ability to lift / move up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work safely with tools and equipment.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Proven experience as a manual machinist, preferably in a tool & die or precision machining environment.
  • Proficiency with manual lathes, mills, grinders, and hand tools.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and tight-tolerance machining.
  • Experience machining tool steels (A2, D2, O1, S7, H13) and working with hardened components.
  • Precision measuring skills with micrometers, indicators, bore gauges, and surface plates.
  • Hand-fitting, polishing, deburring, and assembly experience in a tool & die context.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-precision, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Receive blueprints, files, and documents to manually make parts.
  • Use drawings on manual machine to make parts.
  • Cut material for parts as needed.
  • Machine part to length and square to size.
  • Work with a variety of calipers or micrometers.
  • Work with a variety of tools and machinery in a safe capacity.
  • Overhead Crane Operation.
  • Operate Lathes and Mills.
