About The Position

Alliance Machine & Engraving, LLC is a division of The Bradbury Group specializing in engraving and embossing equipment located in Ashland, VA, just outside of Richmond. Summary: Responsible for operating manual machinery, including engine lathes and cylindrical grinders, to produce precision metal parts to blueprint or job order specifications.

Requirements

Strong mechanical aptitude
Able to use and understand all precision measuring instruments
Understands basic math concepts
Ability to read schematics and blueprints, bills of materials, setup sheets, etc.
Machine painting
Takes pride in work performed
Supply own hand tools
Ability to change assignments frequently
Is consistently at work on time and ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent
Follows instruction, responds to management direction
Takes responsibility for own actions
Commits to overtime hours when necessary to reach customer requirements
Completes tasks on time

Nice To Haves

Prefer successful completion of related course work at a trade or technical school
Prefer auto (or other) mechanic background

Responsibilities

Studies prints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut and determines sequence of operations.
Layout dimensions on parts per prints.
Setup and operate machinery to cut shape or form metal to specifications and ensure conformity of finished work.
Assemble and fit machine components with use of hand and power tools
May be required to learn and operate drills, grinders, mills, lathes, forklifts, overhead hoists, and other equipment as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
