About The Position

Set up, and operation of lathes and mills using machine tools; lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders to perform precision machining operations on new and rework parts. Ability to read blueprints, calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers or calipers. Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. Ability to hold tolerances within .0001”. Ensures all components are properly de-burred, cleaned, and free from foreign material. Responsible for the inspection of parts for conformance to requirements holding close tolerances and maximum efficiencies. Confer with supervisory or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with Company’s procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements. Completes paperwork to maintain records, fills out inspection reports, and follows department standards. Must be able to work independently. Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of position-related education in a job/shop setting
Demonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical drawings required
Demonstrated understanding of basic math skills required
Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments (i.e. micrometers, veneers, and calipers) as required
Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) to interact with co-workers, managers, customers, and vendors
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment around large and noisy equipment
Valid Driver’s License
