About The Position

Intuitive Machines is seeking a Manual Machinist / Deburr Technician to join our team. This position will support the production and finishing of aerospace components for all of our aerospace vehicles. The applicant will be located on-site in Houston, TX. The candidate will work in a team environment supporting the fabrication, refinement, and inspection of flight and ground support hardware.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in manual machining and/or deburring in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating manual mills, lathes, grinders, drills, and hand-finishing tools
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and basic GD&T
  • Familiarity with aerospace or tight-tolerance manufacturing environments preferred
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to lift 50–75 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Understanding of shop safety practices and regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with aerospace materials such as Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Titanium, and Inconel
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards
  • Experience working with work orders, technical drawings, and solid models
  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand part requirements and tolerances
  • Perform manual machining operations using lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment
  • Deburr, polish, and finish machined parts to meet aerospace quality and safety standards
  • Remove sharp edges, burrs, and surface imperfections using hand tools and precision equipment
  • Work closely with engineers and machinists to ensure parts meet design intent and functionality
  • Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Maintain proper documentation for work completed, including inspection and quality records
  • Identify and report non-conformances or defects during manufacturing and finishing processes
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with shop standards
  • Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of shop tools and equipment
