Our Manual Machine Operators (MMO) set up and operate various equipment used in performing machining operations such as drilling, tapping, milling, broaching, tap removal and grinding on a variety of materials. They receive instruction and work assignments from the Process Supervisor or Self-Directed Work Team. The role involves handling material to and from the work area, using jib or overhead cranes or other material handling equipment, as required. MMOs refer to work instructions, sketches, manuals, books, charts, military specifications and process sheets. They perform checks and/or adjustments to processes as required to maintain tolerances, perform deburring operations with an assortment of tools, and check equipment to maintain efficient and safe operations, reporting any deficiencies. Keeping the work area safe and clean is also a key responsibility.
