About The Position

AcutePet Urgent Care is opening in White Oak, OH, and we’re seeking a Managing Veterinarian to help establish the medical direction, team culture, and operational rhythm of this brand new location. This isn’t inheriting someone else’s systems. It’s building them with intention. As Managing Veterinarian, you’ll practice high-quality urgent care without overnights or major holidays - while also stepping into meaningful leadership. Cincinnati’s West Side is a dense, family-centered community with strong primary care relationships and increasing demand for accessible urgent care. Our White Oak hospital will deliver emergency-level medicine in an urgent care setting - designed for: • Sustainability • Clinical confidence • Collaboration • Long-term team retention You’ll see cases like: • Lacerations and minor trauma • GI obstruction workups • Toxin ingestions • Acute vomiting/diarrhea • Urgent diagnostics and stabilization All with structured support and no ER-style burnout schedule. We’re a vet-owned organization built by people who understand the real demands of this profession. Our leadership team includes experienced DVMs, Managing Veterinarians, and a board-certified criticalist serving as Chief Medical Officer. Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (or equivalent)
  • 3+ years clinical experience preferred
  • Urgent care or ER comfort strongly preferred
  • Interest in mentorship and team development
  • Strong clinical reasoning and calm decision-making
  • Clear, compassionate client communication
  • Desire to help build systems - not just follow them

Nice To Haves

  • An experienced emergency veterinarian ready to lead without overnight intensity
  • A strong GP with urgent care or ER experience who wants to mentor others
  • A current leader looking for autonomy without corporate pressure

Responsibilities

  • Set the clinical tone and standards of care
  • Mentor and develop associate DVMs
  • Partner closely with the Practice Manager to shape workflows and team culture
  • Collaborate with our Chief Medical Officer, a board-certified criticalist, for ongoing medical guidance and case support
  • Help recruit and build a team aligned around thoughtful, sustainable urgent care medicine
