About The Position

As an Institutional Payments Lead within the Capital Markets practice, you will advise global banks, capital markets firms, and institutional clients on transforming their payment capabilities. You will lead engagements focused on strategy, operating model design, regulatory readiness, and technology enablement across the institutional payments landscape. This role combines deep domain expertise with consulting acumen to deliver high-impact solutions in a rapidly evolving payments ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 8-12 years of experience in institutional payments, treasury services, or transaction banking, with at least 3 years in a consulting or advisory role.
  • Strong understanding of payment systems (SWIFT, Fedwire, CHIPS), market infrastructures (CLS, DTCC), and regulatory frameworks (e.g., PSD2, AML, KYC).
  • Experience advising on digital transformation, fintech partnerships, or payment modernization programs.
  • Familiarity with capital markets payment flows (e.g., margin calls, collateral movements, FX settlements).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to lead client engagements and deliver strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client engagements focused on institutional payment strategy, modernization, and operational transformation.
  • Advise on payment infrastructure upgrades (e.g., ISO 20022, real-time payments, SWIFT gpi), treasury optimization, and cross-border payment flows.
  • Develop business cases, target operating models, and implementation roadmaps for institutional payment initiatives.
  • Produce white papers, POVs, and client presentations on emerging trends in institutional payments, including digital assets, CBDCs, and DLT.
  • Represent the firm at industry events and contribute to thought leadership in payments innovation and regulatory change.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, shaping proposals, and participating in client pitches.
  • Mentor junior consultants and contribute to capability building within the payments advisory team.
  • Work closely with technology, risk, and compliance teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Partner with product and operations leaders across client organizations to align strategy with execution.
