The Managing Director of Value-Based Operations at Evolent will play a pivotal role in leading the strategic and operational aspects of Evolent Care Partners (ECP), a business unit focused on value-based care relationships with primary care practices. This position involves overseeing strategic planning, operational performance, and collaboration with cross-functional leaders to optimize clinical, quality, and financial outcomes across multiple states and contracts.

  • Own ECP's overall strategic planning efforts and oversee core functions related to clinical, quality, and financial outcomes.
  • Develop a multi-year strategic roadmap for ECP, including plans for growth into new markets and performance optimization.
  • Lead the Quality program, ensuring accountability for ECP's Quality performance across contracts.
  • Partner with Payor Operations and Analytics teams for comprehensive data and performance tracking.
  • Develop clinical and performance improvement strategies based on best practices and provider input.
  • Oversee ECP's Risk Adjustment program, ensuring appropriate risk profile management for patient complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership and management experience.
  • Leadership role within a value-based primary care organization (ACO or Managed Services Organization).
  • Experience with primary care risk models, including shared savings and capitation.
  • Demonstrated experience driving performance and achieving financial targets.
  • Comfort in ambiguity, with experience in a startup environment.
  • Excellent written, computer, and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Medical Expense reporting and initiative development.
  • Strategic thinker and tactical executor capable of moving ideas from concept to reality.
  • Proven ability to interact with and influence clients and internal stakeholders.
  • M.B.A. or equivalent graduate degree.
  • Superior management skills with a successful track record of leading and mentoring leaders.
  • Experience in managing large-scale healthcare operations.
  • Familiarity with Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) and Medicare Advantage.
