About The Position

The Tax Managing Director is a senior leadership role within the Financial Services practice of a public accounting firm. This position focuses on delivering strategic tax planning, compliance, and advisory services to clients in banking, capital markets, fintech, and other financial sectors. The role combines technical expertise, client relationship management, and team leadership to drive growth and ensure exceptional service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field
  • 11+ years of relevant progressive tax experience in public accounting, or a combination of corporate tax and public accounting
  • Current and valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexibility to travel for client engagements and internal meetings. Travel may include overnight stays.

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership in delivering tax advisory and compliance services for individuals, partnerships, and corporations across diverse industries, ensuring regulatory alignment and client value
  • Oversee complex tax research and insights, translating technical findings into actionable strategies for clients and firm leadership
  • Ensure quality and compliance through high-level review of tax filings and risk management protocols
  • Strengthen client relationships by delivering proactive, high-impact tax solutions and positioning the firm as a trusted advisor
  • Drive a culture of client service excellence, fostering long-term partnerships and consistent engagement
  • Develop and lead high-performing teams, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and career development
  • Manage project execution and resource allocation, ensuring timely, efficient, and high-quality service delivery
  • Support firm growth through strategic planning, client retention, and targeted business development initiatives
  • Expand market presence by representing the firm at industry events and cultivating new opportunities
  • Maintain technical leadership through ongoing education, regulatory awareness, and internal knowledge sharing
  • Promote thought leadership by authoring publications and leading firm-wide training initiatives
