About The Position

Partnering with senior executives across our Technology and Operations organization and Innovation Office, you will lead all people related strategies, implementation of talent practices, and oversee all people matters globally. Effectively leading a team of ~7 HR Business Partners globally for this vast and diverse set of functions, is essential to BlackRock's current functioning and for its future growth. The role is responsible for leading forward-looking people strategies, working closely with senior leaders to shape and deliver a tailored best-in-class talent agenda, consulting on talent-related business decisions and partnering with enterprise HR functions. You will serve as the central point of contact and right hand to business leaders to support critical day-to-day issues as they arise, and strategic talent programs, with a forward view. Reporting to the Global Head of HR Business Partners and serving as a member of the Global BP Leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in helping set the strategic direction of the HRBP function, and be an energetic, horizontal leader across HR. To succeed in this business-critical role, you will need proven experience in building trust and credibility with executive teams and employees as well as a track record of the successful execution of people-related programs and initiatives. You should possess a solid understanding of BlackRock's commercial and functional priorities and an ability to translate those to relevant people strategies. Experience as an HRBP in a dynamic financial services organization will be highly valuable, along with experience in a broader talent role and leadership development. Requirements

  • 15-plus years of demonstrated success and recent experience in senior HR roles.
  • Bachelor's degree and MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Ability to forge deep relationships with a large set of clients across various functions.
  • Strong solid understanding of teams in the HR function, including compensation practices, organizational development, change management, employee relations, talent & culture, performance management, training, recruitment, and global employee law.
  • Proven ability in leading successful operations within a global, matrixed (geographic/functional) work environment.
  • Prior experience as a strong people manager with the ability to develop, coach and lead experienced HR professionals.
  • A background in asset management/financial services is not a prerequisite, but there is an expectation that the individual will have a passion to learn about BlackRock's business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the global functional heads to lead a creative and dynamic talent strategy.
  • Serve as a critical thought partner to the business to anticipate, shape and influence organizational change, outlining how to structure and evolve critical senior teams.
  • Evaluate compensation and equity structures to ensure they are market competitive.
  • Define the organizational, talent and diversity strategies and connect the dots across the businesses they support.
  • Be a vocal champion of fostering a culture which reflects our inclusion and belonging strategy.
  • Advise senior leaders through coaching and elevated performance improvement measures.
  • Effectively evaluate the specific needs of the various talent pools and ensure that people strategies accurately reflect the nuanced needs of those employees.
  • Use data, metrics and people analytics to provide insights and influence organizational and talent decisions.
