Job Details The Managing Director, Health System Solutions – Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) is responsible for the execution and operational leadership of Cencora’s consulting solutions for hospitals and health systems in the CGT space. This role focuses on delivering client engagements, enhancing service offerings, and managing the financial performance of the portfolio, including revenue and gross profit. The Managing Director will work closely with health systems to address the operational, financial, and logistical complexities of delivering CGTs, ensuring successful engagements that align with Cencora’s broader strategic objectives. This role requires the ability to develop scalable, standardized consulting frameworks, foster strong client relationships, and continuously evolve services to meet the dynamic needs of the CGT market.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required, advanced degree highly preferred, such as MBA, MHA, MS, PharmD, RN.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in health system consulting, healthcare operations, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success in delivering large-scale consulting engagements, enhancing service offerings, and managing financial performance within a portfolio.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, payer contracting, and revenue cycle management for high-cost, complex therapies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in highly matrixed environments, fostering collaboration across multiple business units.
  • Deep understanding of health systems' operational, financial, and regulatory challenges in delivering CGTs.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical workflows, payer alignment, and multidisciplinary team coordination.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and process improvement skills, with experience applying Lean and/or Six Sigma principles a plus.
  • Oustanding interpersonal, communication, and client relationship management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Client Engagements Lead the delivery of large, complex consulting engagements for health systems, ensuring high-quality execution, measurable results, and profitability.
  • Structure and manage client meetings to address risks, resolve issues, and review deliverables in alignment with agreed-upon objectives.
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for clients, building trust and ensuring satisfaction throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Service Enhancement and Portfolio Development Enhance existing service offerings by identifying gaps and developing innovative solutions to address health systems’ operational, financial, and logistical challenges in the CGT space.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate APS capabilities (e.g., specialty pharmacy, infusion services, 340B expertise) into the CGT consulting portfolio.
  • Develop and refine operational playbooks, reimbursement strategies, and other tools to standardize and scale CGT delivery processes for health systems.
  • Revenue and Gross Profit Management Manage revenue and gross profit for the CGT consulting portfolio, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
  • Track financial performance metrics, including revenue growth, profitability, and operational efficiency, while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support business development by identifying add-on opportunities within existing engagements and contributing to proposals for new clients.
  • Operational Leadership Develop and oversee scalable processes for client onboarding, service delivery, and engagement management to ensure consistent operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure all aspects of service delivery meet Cencora’s standards and client expectations.
  • Mentor and provide performance feedback to consulting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Thought Leadership and Market Positioning Act as a subject matter expert in CGT health system consulting, contributing to publications, presenting at conferences, and participating in industry forums.
  • Develop case studies and client success stories to showcase the impact of the CGT consulting portfolio and strengthen Cencora’s market position.
  • Collaboration with Senior Leadership Work closely with senior leadership to align engagements and service development with the overall strategic direction of the CGT health system solutions portfolio.
  • Provide regular updates on client engagement progress, portfolio performance, and emerging market needs to support the senior leadership’s strategic decision-making.
