The Managing Director of Asset Based Lending at BMO is a pivotal role that facilitates growth initiatives for the bank through significant business development and excellent management of key client relationships. This position is responsible for maintaining an outstanding and continuous record of significant revenue generation from sales and syndications. The Managing Director ensures adherence to internal control standards, including audit, regulatory, and compliance policies, while generating substantial revenue for the bank over a sustained period. The role involves recognizing revenue opportunities to cross-sell bank products across all areas of the bank, leading the deal team in executing pitches to prospective clients, and maximizing sector penetration and returns. In this role, the Managing Director will deliver highly reliable activities in instituting cross-selling initiatives to clients, providing deal structuring expertise, and negotiating transactions with clients on highly complex matters. The position requires identifying issues, gaps, and process improvements through open communication both internally and with other bank areas, while monitoring productivity against benchmarks. Collaboration is key, as the Managing Director will work to generate ideas, identify client solutions, and pursue sector marketing efforts to deliver timely solutions. The role also involves overseeing documentation and ongoing monitoring of asset and client performance, obtaining credit concurrence, and coordinating pricing approval as a client advocate. The Managing Director acts as a trusted advisor to senior leaders for making business decisions and implementing strategic initiatives. This includes developing an expert understanding of business/group challenges, managing resources, and leading the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals. The position requires defining business requirements for analytics and reporting to ensure data insights inform business decision-making, as well as leading the development of communication strategies to positively influence or change behavior. The Managing Director will also be responsible for tracking implementation requests, maintaining current client information, and ensuring accurate billing to clients, all while operating at a group/enterprise-wide level and serving as a senior specialist resource across BMO.
