As a Managing Consultant, Safety in the Houston area, you will play a pivotal role in advancing robust safety programs for innovative clients in Redmond and Kirkland. Your work strengthens compliance, builds safer systems, and drives continuous improvement across a wide range of critical H&S disciplines. What Your Impact Is In this role, you’ll apply your technical expertise to solve real-world problems—from industrial hygiene and hazard assessments to robotics safety, LOTO, and construction safety. You’ll coach teams, develop strategies, complete assessments, support cutting‑edge safety programs, and guide clients toward stronger performance. Your impact will be felt both locally and globally as part of ERM’s renowned interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Safety, Occupational Health, Chemistry, Engineering, or related science degree. Or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years relevant safety experience in manufacturing or process industries.
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Work at client sites as needed (not a remote position).
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • CSP/CIH highly desirable but not required.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Environmental, Chemical, Engineering, or a related science or engineering degree highly desirable but not required.
  • Knowledge of US OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with guidance and direction.
  • Good team player, especially in challenging situations.
  • Strong work ethic with a passion to learn, grow, and thrive.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly with clients, ERM employees, and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative H&S programs and strategies, including US OSHA Occupational Health Programs and Safety Management Systems.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collect, review, and analyze field data to evaluate conditions, present information, and implement effective solutions.
  • Support clients in improving safety performance through training, field coaching, and targeted EHS assessments.
  • Actively participate as a collaborative team member on project teams and complete assignments effectively.
  • Learn and grow through internal/external training, exposure to diverse projects, and advanced customer engagements.
  • Assist global clients in developing solutions to complex technical and regulatory challenges.
  • Understand how your work influences clients’ business objectives and help them meet those goals.
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships by striving to exceed expectations and supporting repeat business.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards across all project deliverables.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with both clients and ERM colleagues.
