The Workday HCM Manager is a key leadership position on the Workday Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) team at the University of Maryland, College Park in the Division of Information Technology (DIT). This role will report to the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) Director and provides managerial support and oversight for key HCM essential areas including recruiting, compensation, hcm core, academics, learning, talent & performance. In addition, this position will be a key liaison between Workday HCM and the Workday Student ERP initiative. This position will lead a team of Workday Analysts to ensure platform system support, configuration administration and continuous business process improvements in these functions. This will require routine facilitation of cross-functional discussions for solutioning, designing, testing, integrating and implementing. Fostering partnerships with our central business operations owners and tenant partner stakeholders will also be a critical responsibility in order to obtain business requirements, identify system process improvements and to strategize on new functionality and enhancements based on business priorities. The successful candidate is an excellent communicator, collaborator, strategic thinker, and motivator with a positive team approach to manage critical functions of a comprehensive Workday system. The Workday HCM Manager will be expected to execute deliverables of the highest quality and present leading practice solutions for the UMD Workday Enterprise. This position is considered essential and may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergency to help maintain the continuity of University services.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years or more of professional experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a supervisory or lead role, managing teams.
  • Experience in recruiting, compensation, hcm core, academics, learning, talent & performance.
  • Experience with the Workday ERP Platform.
  • ERP experience including business process administration, configurations, reporting, EIB loads and understanding of integration touchpoints.
  • Workday Certifications in any of the HCM areas.
  • Strong facilitation, collaboration and partnership skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Salary Range: $145,000-$174,000
  • In-person component with expected time in College Park, MD location per week.
  • Telework is not a guaranteed work arrangement.
