About The Position

The Manager Warehouse Enterprise Inventory will collaborate with key stakeholders to establish and maintain optimal inventory levels. The role involves proactively identifying inventory level optimization opportunities and employing standards, metrics, and processes to maximize inventory efficiency. The Manager will review existing processes across business segments and combine best current state processes with industry best practices. They will create processes to manage and monitor inventory levels for the business segments supported by NiSource Corporate Services, which includes both internally managed and 3rd party managed consignment inventory. The manager will also coach and train various teams throughout the business segments on proven tools and techniques to ensure inventory accuracy. They will serve as the key contact for operations and warehouse personnel and will be responsible for the administration of Corporate Supply Chain Policies and Procedures. Additional responsibilities include managing workload allocation, inventory accuracy, and providing monthly and quarterly reports to each business unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4-6 years of experience in inventory management.
  • Working Knowledge of 3rd Party Consignment Inventory.
  • Working Knowledge of Principles of Accounting and Inventory control.
  • Knowledge of inventory control process methodologies.
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access Database, and SAP S4Hana.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work outside of normal schedule.
  • Ability to analyze and organize large volumes of data.

Responsibilities

  • Establish best practice for inventory control for all business segments to ensure optimal inventory levels for operational needs.
  • Independently prepare and present data analysis findings.
  • Conduct analysis to determine next steps to further investigate and validate inventory variances, and provide root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations as necessary.
  • Manage cycle counts for all NIPSCO warehouse and Columbia Gas Material Mod locations.
  • Set schedules, monitor performance, and conduct reviews.
  • Prepare and maintain records of inventory for gas and electric materials across all NiSource States.
  • Maintain strong relationships with all business segments.
  • Assist in developing material demand plan and key performance metrics.
  • Ensure proper management of aging, excess, and obsolete inventory.
  • Develop short, medium, and long term plans to improve inventory practices, including inventory turns, cycle counting, and conducting physical inventories.
  • Manage all inquiries regarding inventory levels, product concerns, and material recalls.
  • Assist in maintaining Supplier Relationships.
