About The Position

The primary function of the VDC Manager is to lead the integration of Virtual Design and Construction technologies to enhance project delivery and collaboration across all stakeholders, ensuring the successful execution of projects through their lifecycle. The VDC Manager, serves as the technical expert for the project team, ensuring that VDC processes are effectively utilized to meet Universal Standards and expectations. The VDC Manager acts as the liaison between the project team, design, construction, and other stakeholders, ensuring all VDC processes are effectively utilized to meet Universal Standards and expectations, while also ensuring effective coordination, collaboration, and delivery of a high-quality, on-time, and on-budget project.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in Building Information Management (BIM), Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) or related field required. A minimum of 3 years in a BIM/VDC leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven expertise in managing VDC processes, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), 3D modeling, clash detection, across a range of project types (e.g., commercial, theme park, industrial, infrastructure).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in themed entertainment or other large-scale, complex projects is required.
  • Proficient in the use of Autodesk's Revit and Autodesk Navisworks.
  • Solid understanding of Autodesk Construction Cloud as a collaborative tool for project coordination and management.
  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, or any construction-related field required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in architecture or related field is preferred.
  • Registered architect or engineer a plus.
  • Certification in VDC (e.g., VDC Professional, BIM Manager Certification), BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) or construction management is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Project Development: Lead the implementing VDC processes and standards. This includes managing access to the VDC database to ensure that all design and construction activities align with project goals and objectives.
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as the primary point of contact regarding Universal Creative's VDC standards and processes for the project team, ensuring that the project outcomes reflect the vision, goals, and requirements of Universal Creative.
  • Collaboration & Coordination: Partner with architects, engineers, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate VDC tools into project workflows, facilitate coordination, and resolve conflicts early in the design and construction phases.
  • Training & Support: Lead training initiatives for project teams and stakeholders on VDC tools and technologies, promoting effective adoption and usage throughout the project.
  • Risk Mitigation and Reporting: Proactively identify and report risks related to design and construction phases, leveraging VDC tools such as clash detection to analyze potential issues and collaborate with project teams to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all VDC deliverables, such as models, drawings, and simulations, meet the required standards and are accurate and reliable.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
