About The Position

The Venue Security Manager, International Broadcast Center (IBC), will play a pivotal role in the protection of the IBC, during all phases of Games Operations, from the beginning of construction in early 2026, through both the Olympic and Paralympic Games periods. This role requires a strong operational security background. The successful candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who can work collaboratively with multiple functional areas (departments,), government and public safety agencies, general contractors and sub-contractors, and private security providers. The ideal candidate has experience in construction site security and safety, and experience delivering successful security programs in high-tech, television/motion picture studios, or broadcast environments. The successful candidate must be a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented individual with strong written and verbal communication skills. Initially, this position will be reported to the Director, Venue Security, but the report will be transferred to the Group Security Manager later.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+years of experience in a fast-paced, venue safety/security position.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Construction site security experience.
  • Experience in cross functional security planning and collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in private security management, event security, specifically international, multi-sport events preferred.
  • Experience working with the federal, state, or local government is preferred.
  • Experience in event security planning or large-scale project management is preferred.
  • Certifications or specialized training in Security, Law Enforcement, Public Safety, and/or Project Management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Integration: In collaboration with members of the Safety and Security Team, Venue Management, Construction Partners including venue designers/architects and construction services providers, Venue Partners, Public Safety Agencies, and Private Security Providers, develop venue-based security plans that provide the highest level of Security while minimizing impacts to critical venue construction schedules and event operations. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners (law enforcement, emergency services, and private vendors) to create unified and integrated security plans. Develop and integrate policies and procedures for both the construction and Games Operations periods. Will serve as the main point of contact/liaison for the Safety & Security Department with key functional areas, Venue contacts, government/public safety agencies, as required.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Contribute to risk and Venue assessments to identify vulnerabilities, develop mitigation strategies, and oversee implementation of approved security plans. Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, and international best practices for event security.
  • Operational Coordination: Act as the primary representative to the IBC for the Safety and Security Department, develop, deliver, and oversee the LA28 approved Construction Security Plan for the IBC, beginning in early 2026. Assist in the development and delivery of the IBC Games Security Plan. Ensure adherence to all approved LA28 Policies and Procedures at the IBC during construction and Games Operational Periods. Oversee private security partners during the construction period. Complete incident reports and daily status reports as required.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between LA28 Functional Areas, assigned Public Safety and Security Agencies, and the Safety and Security Department, as assigned. Foster collaboration, teamwork, and information-sharing. Manage relationships with external partners, including law enforcement agencies, regulatory entities, and service providers.
  • Project Management: Chair planning meetings or working groups, as assigned, to ensure timely delivery of milestones and deliverables. Complete regular status reports, draft and share meeting notes and agendas, and draft policy and procedure documents, as required.
