Manager of US Vaccines Budget Operations is part of Pfizer’s US Commercial Vaccines. US Vaccines Budget Operations is responsible for developing streamlined budget processes, managing financial operations and processes, and enforcing compliance of financial processes. This person is responsible for the budget management, tracking of forecasted and actual spend and working closely with Finance leads, Marketing and BAI teams through LE’s and quarter closes. The role utilizes project management, budget expertise and interpersonal skills to support and drive alignment and implementation. This role will require strong analytical ability, coupled with sufficient knowledge of business/finance analysis tools and methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years in a large matrix organization within finance, marketing, or operations OR High School degree with 10 years of experience including the ability to develop budget alternatives for management considerations
  • Advance level skill in Microsoft Excel
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and train others
  • Demonstrates attention to details and financial acumen, ability to manage a budget with a history of staying on or under budget
  • Demonstrated effective collaboration with teams across an organization to drive processes and operations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including experience in front of leadership
  • Accountable - being a prime driver for delivery against deadlines and having the discipline, care, and attention to detail necessary to be successful
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change in a fluid environment - new processes for budget management and compliance issues

Responsibilities

  • Financial Stewardship: Serve as a key liaison between the Pfizer US Vaccines Brand teams, Finance and strategic partners to ensure accurate, effective and efficient administration of A&P spend - planning, forecasting and actualizing budgets.
  • Develop alternative spending/budget approaches for manager consideration.
  • Manage financial submissions to our finance leads in their template on behalf of the marketing teams to include: Phasing of initial budget, LE submissions, Quarterly closes/Year-End close.
  • Manage requests from our finance leads to respond to CMO inquiries and templates to complete.
  • Manage reclassing of charges with our finance leads that have hit the incorrect cost center and/or budgets.
  • Manage financial audits as needed.
  • Subject matter expert and user of Pfizer’s finance platforms.
  • Evaluate and realign processes with new financial systems/platforms.
  • Lead communication, education and training as it relates to process implementation to improve team awareness, compliance, and promote seamless operational changes.
  • Budget Management/Op Plan: Execute day-to-day budget activities and meticulous records to include project creation, PO creation, maintaining documentation, and tracking of spend for auditing and compliance
  • Oversees and leads quarterly forecasting and reconciliation, including buyup and ring fence exercises
  • Provide finance deadlines & milestones to teams and strategic partners
  • Reporting - customize brand reports and regularly interact with team leaders to actively maintain annual budgets
  • Billing issues/expedited payments - Work with AP, Marketing, BAI & Finance to help in resolution
  • Build relationships with key strategic Pfizer colleagues across the organization
  • Learn and stay up to date in a variety of internal tools including Agency Management Processes / Agency of Record (AOR) project submission in Decideware, financial reporting system (SAP), project finance management systems (POD and Ariba), Vendor Maintenance, FUSE, invoice tracking (Taulia) as there are changes/keep up to date on templates and expense coding
