About The Position

The Uhealth System/University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Capital Planning in the Capital Planning UHealth Finance Department. SUMMARY The Manager, Capital Planning supports capital budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for UHealth/MSOM through partnering with key capital stakeholders and communication throughout the fiscal year. The Manager, Financial Planning enables efficient and effective deployment of capital by tracking strategic expansion, multi-year, and routine replacement programs across the enterprise. The incumbent accounts for the evaluation of current capital processes and makes recommendations for improvement, while ensuring a solid communication strategy to keep all stakeholders involved and informed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Operational Management: Optimizes day-to-day operations and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Organizational Development: Ability to implement strategies to improve organizational effectiveness, engagement, and manage change.
  • Financial Oversight: Knowledge of financial operations and management.
  • Team Leadership: Ability to create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with others.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with senior finance management, facilities, treasury, and the PMO team to ensure alignment of capital budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for UHealth/MSOM portfolio of capital programs.
  • Leads analysis of historical/actual /forecasted results of capital programs.
  • Leads the development and maintenance of short- and long-term financial forecasts.
  • Participates with senior finance management in the development and enhancement of executive level reports for monitoring of capital project-level performance.
  • Evaluates, identifies, and monitors threats and opportunities and integrates this analysis into communication with senior finance management and appropriate departments.
  • Conducts fixed asset depreciation analysis, budgeting and forecasting with appropriate operational and financial stakeholders.
  • Develops subject matter expertise on fixed asset classification, useful lives, and lease vs buy analysis.
  • Assesses standard operating procedures within finance, makes recommendations for process improvement, and drives such efforts.
  • Prepares reporting on capital programs and presents status reports to stakeholders.
  • Provides oversight of staff and analysts.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
