Cenovus is hiring a Manager, Turnaround (TAR) Planning and Engineering for our Toledo refinery. This role is responsible for development and implementation of efficient, consistent, and competitive planning and engineering systems, standards, and processes for TARs and NCE Events. The individual manages the discipline specific planning team, is responsible for working with the Asset, Engineering, and Inspection teams to develop outage Premise, assess incoming scope items, implement risk based scope selection process, align key deliverable milestones, manage planning, engineering, and quality KPIs, and for providing assurance.   • Responsible for development and implementation of efficient, consistent, and competitive planning, quality, and engineering systems, standards, and processes for TARs and NCE Events.
  • Handles the discipline specific planning team
  • Responsible for coordinating critical breakthrough accomplishments, leading all aspects of planning, engineering, and quality metrics, and ensuring quality control at every stage.
  • Coaches, mentors and supervises team members, ensure technical subject matter support, and ensures proper resourcing and assignments are made and performance is achieved in support of all Turnaround events.
  • Is responsible for creation of detailed plans for Turnaround execution including coordinating with appropriate fields and teams to determine technical requirements, proposing resourcing strategies, assessing and sourcing materials and service requirements, and building detailed plan steps and Phase 1 schedules.
  • Participates and contributes to lessons learned and benchmarking.
  • Provides insight and analysis of how the plan evolved over time and any issues that came up during the execution of the turnaround and implements learnings into future plans.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in turnaround, project and/or maintenance planning and execution
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management or an Engineering field
  • Working knowledge of construction and TAR processes and project controls
  • Strong communications, interpersonal and team building skills
