This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement
  • Fluent in use of precision hand tools
  • Proficiency in business/office computing software
  • Familiarity with non-conformance systems
  • Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a production start-up environment
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, forecasting and capital equipment procurement and/or upgrades
  • Knowledge and understanding of precision measurement techniques and equipment
  • Ability to work cooperatively with teams of multi - skill levels
  • Shift A Shift (flexible to work other shift as business needed)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Tube Shop and associated equipment
  • Provide mentoring, training and skills development for team members
  • Promote and inspire teamwork and employee morale
  • Promote and ensure workplace safety
  • Develop and monitor department metrics (Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule, OEE)
  • Perform critical administrative activities including recruiting, performance reviews, coaching, resource planning and budget management
  • Maintain machine shop schedules to ensure internal delivery targets are met
  • Collaborate with team members to address capacity and scheduling conflicts
  • Drive process improvements to reduce setup times and machining times
  • Establish, maintain and improve workplace 5S and FOD controls
  • Provide status updates on hardware deliveries at daily schedule meeting
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated
