About The Position

The Manager in Training (MIT) position at AutoZone is a short-term transitional role designed to prepare individuals for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. The program allows for potential advancement to a management role within approximately 8-12 weeks, contingent on prior experience and performance. MITs are integral members of the management team, responsible for supporting the Store Manager in various operational aspects while receiving training to enhance their leadership and management skills.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of previous experience as a retail manager or supervisor.
• Ability to work a full-time flexible schedule, including morning, night, and weekend shifts.
• Bilingual preferred, but not required.
• Previous automotive experience preferred, but not required.
• Experience analyzing company financials including Profit and Loss Statement preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in overall store operations and management.
• Maintain an engaged and productive store team through strong leadership.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and drive store performance.
• Manage, analyze, and reconcile monthly P&L statements.
• Oversee employee staffing, training, and development.
• Handle inventory management and customer service leadership.
• Complete operations and management skills training to learn about key business aspects.
