About The Position

As the Manager, Total Rewards & People Operations, you will build and optimize the systems, processes, and programs that power Sol de Janeiro’s employee experience. A critical focus of this role is leading our transition from a PEO-supported model to a fully in-house People Operations function, including benefits administration, payroll operations, and compliance infrastructure. You will serve as the operational backbone of the People Team—overseeing HR systems, managing compensation and benefits operations, ensuring data accuracy, and driving scalable processes across the employee lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in People Operations, Total Rewards, HRIS, payroll, or related HR roles.
  • Experience in CPG, supply chain, manufacturing, or other operationally complex environments strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience transitioning from a PEO to internal benefits, payroll, and HR operations required.
  • Strong understanding of compensation practices, benefits administration, and multi-state payroll.
  • Expertise with HR systems such as HiBob, TriNet/PEO platforms, and Greenhouse.
  • Exceptional accuracy, detail orientation, and data integrity mindset.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and balance both tactical and strategic work.
  • Discretion and professionalism in managing sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day administration of benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, audits, and compliance.
  • Support annual compensation cycles: benchmarking, job leveling, merit planning, and internal equity reviews.
  • Partner with brokers and vendors to evaluate and optimize benefit offerings.
  • Maintain compensation structures and job architecture in partnership with People Leadership.
  • Lead the transition from TriNet (or similar PEO) to an in-house model for benefits, payroll, and compliance.
  • Build internal processes, documentation, and workflows to support the migration.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and IT to establish new systems, integrations, and controls.
  • Ensure smooth transfer of data, policies, and employee records.
  • Own and implement new HRIS ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and system integrity.
  • Manage system enhancements, integrations, and automation to support scale.
  • Develop reporting and dashboards for headcount, turnover, compensation, and compliance metrics.
  • Lead internal audits related to employment data, benefits, and payroll.
  • Oversee payroll workflows, ensuring accurate and timely processing across multiple states and regions.
  • Validate payroll inputs (new hires, separations, compensation changes, leaves, bonuses).
  • Resolve discrepancies across HR, payroll, and benefits systems.
  • Partner with Finance on payroll accounting, compliance filings, and reconciliations.
  • Optimize onboarding plans, ensuring completion of pre-hire tasks, system setup, and benefits enrollment.
  • Oversee offboarding processes including separations, documentation, final pay, and systems access.
  • Continually refine workflows for accuracy, compliance, and scalability.
  • Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and regulatory documentation.
  • Ensure multi-state and international compliance across employment, payroll, and benefits.
  • Oversee document retention, I-9 audits, and employment file compliance.
  • Manage leave programs including FMLA, disability, and accommodations.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees on compensation, benefits, and People Operations questions.
  • Provide clear, consistent guidance to employees and managers.
  • Support wellness, engagement, and operational communication initiatives.
  • Lead projects such as HRIS implementation, policy overhauls, benefits renewals, and process redesign.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions that improve accuracy and employee experience.
  • Develop scalable People Ops practices to support global growth.
  • Oversee all employee data in our HR systems (HiBob, Greenhouse, TriNet, etc.), ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Generate reports and insights to support business and people strategy decisions.
  • Lead system enhancements, integrations, and process automation in partnership with IT and HRIS vendors.
  • Manage audits and ensure compliance with employment laws and data privacy regulations across regions.
  • Oversee the full onboarding experience from pre-hire logistics to new hire orientation and systems setup.
  • Manage offboarding processes, including exit documentation, system terminations, etc.
  • Continuously optimize onboarding and exit workflows to ensure consistency, compliance, and exceptional employee experience.
  • Partner with our PEO and Payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely data for payroll processing.
  • Manage benefits data changes, leave tracking, and audit processes.
  • Resolve discrepancies across People Experience, payroll, and benefits systems in a timely and proactive manner.
  • Maintain and update company policies and employee handbooks to reflect regulatory and internal changes.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Lead documentation retention and compliance audits.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for People Experience-related inquiries and employee support.
  • Partner with People Experience leadership and ERGs to plan and execute engagement initiatives, cultural moments, and wellness programs.
  • Champion Sol’s people-first culture through programs that foster inclusion, recognition, and connection.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance the employee experience.
  • Lead People Experience projects such as HRIS upgrades, policy rollouts, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Implement scalable processes to support Sol’s global growth.
  • Manage and mentor the People Experience Specialist, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
