The Torch Relays (RLY) functional area is responsible for the planning & execution of LA28’s Olympic & Paralympic Torch Relays. They are key national engagement & promotional tools, creating an accessible Games experience for people across the country and developing a sense of excitement and anticipation by all leading up to the Olympic & Paralympic Opening Ceremonies. As national engagement programs, the Olympic & Paralympic Torch Relays require not only the coordination of numerous internal functional areas, but also external stakeholders across the country to bring them to life. As a Manager of Project Management for the Torch Relays, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, coordination, and execution of these large-scale programs. This position demands a strategic mindset, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams, ensuring that all project components align with the overarching vision of the events. You will oversee key milestones, manage project workflows, and contribute to the seamless execution of operations critical to the success of the relays. Given the fast-paced nature of the environment, adaptability and problem-solving skills will be essential as you navigate challenges and maintain progress toward strict deadlines. In this role, you will serve as a bridge between different functional areas, working directly with key internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for developing and refining project timelines and tracking risks while maintaining clear and effective communication across all levels of the organization. Your expertise in project management methodologies will be instrumental in optimizing processes, improving efficiencies, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. This role reports to the Head of Torch Relays.
