Job Overview and Responsibilities: The Manager – Tooling Planning is responsible for leading assistant managers, tooling planners and analysts to manage the forecast, planning, procurement and allocation of aircraft tooling systemwide. They will oversee the development of standard tooling requirements for each fleet type and mission and maintain list of non-standard tools requested by stations, to support tooling logistics systemwide while coordinating the movement of tools. They will work closely with the long-term planning manager to create robust data-driven allocation plans. They will maintain strong communication with station leaders and their toolrooms and with vendors to foster those relationships. They lead their assistant managers to contribute to continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives as they relate to aircraft tooling. They will also be responsible for preparing funding proposals throughout the year as needed, in particular the yearly tooling budget AFE.
