Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or RCDD with minimum 5 years of applicable data center experience.
  • Extensive experience in TIA-942 data center telecommunications, and general campus/building ICT design standards.
  • Strong technical knowledge of telecommunications systems, protocols, and industry standards.
  • Experience with large-scale network design, deployment, and management.
  • General understanding of data center infrastructure and operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and experience working with AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Design drawing and specification familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Telecommunications Strategy and Planning: · Support the strategic roadmap for telecommunications operations, aligning it with business objectives and industry’s best practices. · Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements related to telecommunications in the data center industry. · Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, leveraging new technologies and solutions to enhance telecommunications services.
  • Telecommunications infrastructure design and construction: Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of telecommunications infrastructure within the data center to include: · Support & maintain critical Div. 27.00 specifications and standards · Ensure standards and specifications are adhered to during bid phase · Ensure contractors fully meet installation & test requirements prior to handover Review each phase of design deliverables. Support conceptual/directional design decisions at inception. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Operations, and Sales to ensure seamless integration of telecommunications systems. Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and security protocols in all telecommunications infrastructure projects.
  • Audio Visual and Security Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of the AV and security infrastructure within the data centers to include: · Support & maintain critical Div. 28.00 specifications and standards · Ensure standards and specifications are adhered to during bid phase · Ensure contractors fully meet installation & test requirements prior to handover Review each phase of design deliverables. Support conceptual/directional design decisions at inception. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Operations, Security, and Sales to ensure seamless integration of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and security protocols.
  • Operations and Service Delivery: Perform periodic site physicals, a robust assessment of site operations and select testing to ensure best possible uptime and reliability. Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of telecommunications systems to meet customer SLAs and business needs.
  • Revenue support Coordination and support for customer pursuits when any deviation to designs or standards is required. Help coordinate technical investigations and assessment of assets under consideration for acquisition.
  • Vendor management and partnerships: Maintain relationships with telecommunications vendors and service providers. Report to management vendor performance, and coordinate timely delivery of equipment, services, and support. This individual will support the engineering team on Aligned’s technical topics and matters and will work directly with the internal and external design teams to ensure technical compliance. As a technical contributor, this individual will play a crucial role in a wide variety of responsibilities ranging from early-stage design direction, to validating installed conditions, to yearly site assessments, and evaluating next level technologies. Working cross functionally, this individual will raise Aligned’s technical capabilities and enhance performance across multiple work streams.
