This is a full-time position in Vancouver, WA Travel is approximately 60% - 75% Daily work is conducted in an indoor/outdoor safety sensitive environment where the working conditions can include diverse and extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet), walking and performing work on uneven surfaces, working around loud noises, fumes, and heavy/moving machinery. Requirements

  • Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical, Business, or related discipline AND/OR equivalent formal training/work experience.
  • Candidate should be self-directed, motivated and have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Candidates should have the ability to communicate well, one-on-one and in groups
  • Candidates should be safety-conscious and able to support and contribute to a strong safety process

Nice To Haves

  • 6 years work experience in a telecommunications, technical, and/or operations environment.
  • Prior experience and knowledge in the complexity of BNSF's Telecommunication Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the Safety of team ensuring safe work practices, processes and rules are followed. Establish strategy for the development and sustainability of the safety culture within the Telecom team.
  • Perform effective safety audits and inspections of the Telecom Operations and track findings to ensure closure, assist in investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Utilize Operations Testing and address unsafe work practices when found. Ensure employees perform their work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Effectively lead a Telecom organization consisting of scheduled Foreman, Electronic Technicians and Maintainers. Must understand the importance of maintaining good working relationships and foster an inward thinking culture.
  • Manage/coordinate planning, operations, maintenance, installation and testing procedures for all Telecommunications systems, including, but not limited to: LAN, WAN, router, data center equipment, transmission systems (digital and analog), telephone systems, voice and data radio systems, trackside detector systems, video teleconferencing and multi-level office building infrastructure connectivity, copper and optical fiber media for information transmission.
  • Responsible for expenditures to operating budget and ensuring all charges fall within compliance to company policies. Ensure operating budget is managed to the allocated amounts provided.
