About The Position

Role summary: The Manager – Last Mile Trip planning is responsible for leading initiatives to support Walmart’s Last Mile Trip planning and execution. We are seeking a highly analytical and driven professional to lead and optimize our last-mile delivery operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing trip planning configurations and operating plans that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the driver and customer experience. About the team: Development of advanced trip planning systems that enhance fulfillment efficiency and support last-mile delivery processes. This team manages multiple complex technology projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals through effective program planning, collaboration across functions, the team drives continuous improvement by leveraging data insights and innovative tools.

Requirements

  • Have a passion for driving innovation and optimizing last mile operations.
  • Utilize analytics to deep dive into delivery data, identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Conduct regular analysis of routing performance across the Last Mile business for all vehicle types and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, data science, product, and operations teams to implement new routing features and capabilities.
  • You possess the ability to assume end-to-end ownership and autonomously lead cross-functional partners in executing strategic, high-visibility projects.
  • Thrive while balancing multiple workstreams and priorities under pressure and can also have FUN at work.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: proven track record of leading large, cross-functional initiatives across Finance, Operations, Data Science, and Strategy to deliver measurable results.
  • AI & Automation: experience leveraging AI solutions to streamline processes, automate workflows, and transform operational efficiency.
  • Data Analytics: advanced ability to analyze and synthesize complex trends using BigQuery, dashboards, and large-scale datasets to drive actionable insights.
  • Strategic Planning: skilled in developing data-driven strategies, frameworks, and roadmaps to optimize trip planning and operational performance.
  • Financial Analysis: proficient in building and interpreting financial models to quantify business impact, evaluate trade-offs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 3 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • Option 2: 5 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Improving the Last Mile Trip Planning process, cost, and customer / driver experience metrics through improved trip planning
  • Prioritizing, influencing and deploying improvements in technology for Last Mile Trip Planning
  • Define goals, deliverables, and schedules for multiple medium to high-complexity technology projects aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Monitor project progress against milestones, leading cross-functional coordination meetings to address issues and dependencies.
  • Build stakeholder consensus through clear, concise communication and data-driven presentations.
  • Manage technology-related process updates and support continuous improvement initiatives.
