The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the leader in promoting and developing the sport’s growth on every level in the United States, from local communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open. The Role The new Manager of Technical Solutions should be analytical, detail-oriented, data-driven, and has a strong technical foundation (even if it is not directly within tennis or civil engineering). Many of the projects this candidate will support will require a creative, entrepreneurial, or innovative mindset. Candidates with nonprofit experience, sustainable development, or community development experience would be a plus. More than anything, the person should be team-oriented and work well in a collaborative setting.

Requirements

  • 2-4+ years, engineer in training (EIT)
  • Select involvement with National tennis providers, community tennis associations, and NRPA.
  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge and technical understanding of site infrastructure, facility design standards, and site specifications.
  • Ability to conduct site analysis
  • Ability to learn and use Salesforce customer relationship management system.
  • Highly team-oriented, personable, responsive, independent, and organized.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with nonprofit experience, sustainable development, or community development experience would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Stay abreast of standards, industry recommendations, and specifications for tennis court infrastructure.
  • Administer the comprehensive USTA Park Agency Tennis Assessments with leading agencies, including the Portfolio Assessment (PATA+) program.
  • Administer the distribution and timeline of USTA's technical Facility Services projects.
  • Collaborate to identify and establish strategies for the improvement of tennis delivery within markets such as parks and recreation, CTAs, and new facilities.
  • Work directly with relevant parties on any initiatives as assigned.
  • Create a knowledge technical repository
  • Provide support to the Public Parks committees
