Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering issues we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project life-cycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams. As the Manager of Technical Program Management for the Global Network Acquisition Americas team, you will architect the physical backbone of the Google Cloud and Production network. You will lead and empower a team of expert Technical Program Managers (TPMs) dedicated to securing critical infrastructure, including dark fiber, colocation space, power, and bandwidth capacity. In this role, you will build the goal and strategy for the team, ensuring that your portfolio of acquisition programs delivers business value aligned with organizational Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). You will combine advanced subject-matter expertise in network infrastructure with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive cross-functional alignment. You will combine advanced technical judgment in fiber optics and power with the executive presence required to align stakeholders. This role involves some travel to oversee critical site builds and infrastructure milestones.
