Job Summary: The Manager, Taxation serves as the company’s strategic leader for all global tax matters, overseeing compliance, planning, audits, and risk management across multiple jurisdictions. This role supports a complex, engineering driven organization with international manufacturing, tooling development, third-party sourcing and aftermarket support operations. The Senior Tax Manager partners closely with Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure the company’s tax posture is optimized, compliant, and aligned with long term business strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or Master’s in Taxation.
  • 8–12+ years of progressive tax experience, including multinational exposure.
  • Strong technical expertise in U.S. federal tax, international tax, and ASC 740.
  • Experience with manufacturing or engineering driven industries.
  • Strategic thinking with hands on execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced, global environment.
  • High integrity and commitment to compliance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or tooling environments.
  • Familiarity with transfer pricing for a global business (manufacturing, third party sourcing and services)
  • Background in ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, or similar).
  • Ability to communicate complex tax concepts to nontax stakeholders.
  • Experience in international tax, HGB (German GAAP) and IFRS.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Strategy & Planning Develop and execute global tax strategies that support the company’s growth in aerospace tooling, including cross border manufacturing, R&D activities, and long term customer contracts.
  • Evaluate tax implications of new business initiatives, acquisitions, joint ventures, and international expansions.
  • Lead transfer pricing strategy, documentation, and intercompany policy development for tooling design, engineering services, third-party sourcing and manufacturing.
  • Maximize opportunities for tax optimization, credits, incentives, and R&D tax benefits across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assist in legal entity design by providing insight on tax implications.
  • Compliance & Reporting Oversee preparation and review of federal, state, and international income tax returns.
  • Manage global indirect tax compliance (VAT, GST, sales/use tax) related to tooling shipments, spare parts, and service operations.
  • Ensure accurate quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740.
  • Maintain strong internal controls over tax processes and reporting.
  • Audit & Risk Management Lead all tax audits and inquiries from U.S. and foreign tax authorities.
  • Assess tax risks associated with global supply chain operations, longterm tooling programs, and customer funded development.
  • Monitor global tax law changes and proactively adjust company policies.
  • Cross Functional Leadership Partner with Engineering and Program Management to evaluate tax impacts of tooling development cycles, capital investments, and customer pricing structures.
  • Collaborate on cash tax forecasting, repatriation planning, and global cash management.
  • Advise senior leadership on tax implications of strategic decisions.
  • Team Leadership Manage external tax advisors.
  • Establish best practice processes and scalable systems for a growing global enterprise.
