Manager, Talent Management Accountability Statement This position manages the execution of innovative talent programs working in collaboration with the Vice President Talent Management. The incumbent in this role will focus on innovating, creating, and improving areas that will continue to develop top-tier talent. Talent Management functions include, but are not limited to, the ongoing change and improvements of the performance management process from establishing goals, development plans, mid-year reviews, calibration, and year-end reviews. The incumbent will develop communications, training, and other resources as needed to continue the ongoing improvement and accountability of the process. This role is also imperative to the success of the College Internship Program and the Management Development Program, and is involved in the succession planning process. This positions partners closely with the HR Workday team, HR Business Partners, and functional leaders in identifying key talent to drive VyStar as the leading Credit Union in the Southeast. The incumbent will benchmark, identify, develop, and evaluate key development resources for those in succession planning and partner with Learning & Development to provide counsel for others in the organization. This includes analyzing performance review and succession planning data. The Talent Management Manager may also be called upon to consult in organizational design and/or process improvement initiatives and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Talent Management and/or Talent Development, focused on building internal bench strength.
  • Additional experience in executing and innovating Performance Management processes is necessary for this role.
  • Must be self-driven and have the capability and confidence to interface effectively with multiple stakeholders in Human Resources and senior leaders across the business.
  • Advanced proficiency in facilitating learning, problem solving, and improvement meetings.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations that secure buy‑in from key stakeholders, including business leaders.
  • Strong commitment to developing talent through effective coaching.
  • Exhibits strong research and benchmarking capabilities, along with the project management skills needed to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships across HR to achieve organizational goals, supported by exceptional communication, facilitation, coaching, and collaboration skills that effectively influence behaviors and drive successful change management.

  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and social sensitivity required to engage with employees on all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to demonstrate exemplary behavior, attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of and skill in Adult Learning practices, design, and measurement. (e.g., ADDIE, AGILE, Kirkpatrick Evaluation a plus)
  • Ability to organize, manage frequent interruptions and work a flexible schedule as required, which may include overnight travel.
  • A strong business acumen in talent management field preferred.
  • Demonstrates advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (i.e., Word, Power Point, Excel, and Publisher).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, or related field a plus
  • Project Management (PMI), Executive Coaching, Assessment tools (360’s, Strengthsfinder, DiSC, Emotional Intelligence), or other HR certifications a plus.
  • Experience with the Workday HRIS system strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with the VP Talent Management, HRBP team, HR Compensation, Learning & Development, and HRIS teams to continue designing a best-in-class Performance Management process.
  • Collaborating on the design of new Talent Management initiatives to develop talent and build bench strength that supports VyStar’s dynamic growth.
  • Leading various initiatives, including but not limited to, the development of talent materials, performance management practices, communication materials, and development tools.
  • Researching best demonstrated talent development strategies and partnering with external consultants and vendors as sourced.
  • Oversees the end‑to-end design, development, and management of the College Internship Program, including partnering with business leaders on program participation, collaborating with Talent Acquisition on recruitment, managing the internship schedule and events, delivering development workshops, coaching interns, and supporting Intern Managers to ensure a successful and seamless internship experience.
  • Designs and leads the Management Development Program, including partnering with business leaders on Associate rotations, gathering feedback for continuous improvement, and developing and guiding Management Development Program Associates.

  • The Risk team serves as the second line of defense by providing risk oversight and credible challenge whereas the Audit team serves as the third line of defense by providing risk assurance.
