About the position

Daikin Applied is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager of Systems Engineering & Product Architecture to lead a cross-functional team focused on designing, developing, and integrating cutting-edge products. This role requires a deep understanding of system engineering principles, product architecture, and cross-functional leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions that align with business objectives. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of systems engineers and product architects, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Define system-level architecture, requirements, and specifications to meet business and customer needs
  • Ensure end-to-end system integration and performance optimization across hardware and software
  • Collaborate with product management to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Drive system design reviews, technical assessments, and risk evaluations
  • Maintain alignment between system architecture and product roadmap to ensure scalability and future-proofing
  • Implement best practices in system engineering, model-based design, and architectural frameworks
  • Work cross-functionally with software, hardware, and quality teams to ensure timely and successful product development
  • Provide mentorship and professional growth opportunities for team members
  • Oversee documentation, standards compliance, and technical reporting

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, product architecture, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience in a technical environment
  • Strong knowledge of system design, integration, and lifecycle management
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies
  • Proficiency in system modeling, simulation, and requirements management tools
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and cross-functional team coordination
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in industries such as HVAC, aerospace, automotive, appliances, etc
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards relevant to system design
  • Certification in systems engineering (INCOSE CSEP, ESEP) or related fields desirable
