About The Position

As a Systems Engineering manager for our space electronics business area, you will lead a team of engineers that work to solve our customers' most difficult technical challenges. Your role will include both functional management as well as individual technical contributor. You would be involved in planning activities to address development activity processes and procedures. You could be the technical lead of the program team, perform technical planning, design, analysis, implementation, system integration, validation and verification. Analyses are performed at all levels to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. This position supports the Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) Segment, a great team of talented professionals with world class technical expertise who take a collaborative approach to engineering and enjoy working together. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Physics, or related Engineering discipline with a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience leading a team or project within the space electronics field.
  • Demonstrated experience in a technical discipline supporting space electronics products.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well within and outside of the organization including customers, vendors, and leadership with minimal oversight.
  • Knowledge of military and/or NASA component specifications, design processes, and hardware test/verification procedures.
  • Active DoD Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for determining staffing requirements and adjusting staffing levels as necessary to ensure that the department's workforce is appropriately staffed with qualified individuals.
  • Review BOEs and other artifacts / deliverables for technical quality / process adherence.
  • Support / lead technical planning, system integration, validation, and verification activities in support of programs and development efforts.
  • Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution.
  • Determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes / performance.
  • Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance relative to the goals of the system.
  • Act as the Technical Point of Contact to our customers and our suppliers.
  • Demonstrated experience with designing, developing, testing, and delivering.
  • Demonstrated experience in the architecture, specification, implementation, simulation, test, verification, validation, and debugging.
  • Demonstrated complex problem solving and decision making.
  • Experience writing BOEs and supporting proposals.
  • System test and evaluation requirements development experience.
