About The Position

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Climate Policy, based in Geneva, Switzerland, you will have responsibility for conducting robust policy analysis – both qualitative and quantitative – in support of promoting regulation and policies that advance and accelerate imperatives regarding the airline industry’s environmental sustainability goals, including achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. You will contribute to IATA’s advocacy efforts with technical inputs that are supported by sound analysis and effective outreach materials. Working with all teams in IATA S&E, you will proactively engage with governments and regulators to influence the development of appropriate policies that impact the industry. You will also participate in building and maintaining relationships with member airlines and other industry stakeholders and promote industry best practices in sustainability management. You will represent the airlines’ interests in various forums, events, and technical meetings, notably but not exclusively, those in the Americas. In coordination with airline experts and other stakeholders and aligned with IATA’s global strategy and priorities, you will participate in meetings and support the drafting and review of different regulatory initiatives concerning the aviation environment and sustainability. In collaboration with IATA members, you will help to identify solutions and provide technical support regarding the various challenges airlines face when complying with different regulations within and across jurisdictions. As a subject matter expert, you will have opportunities to deliver presentations and develop material for internal and external capacity-building workshops. You will be expected to contribute to developing the strategic direction, identifying priorities, and delivering on the strategy of the team and wider Division, including, but not limited to, the topics concerning the Americas. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director Policy Standards or by the Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Chief Economist.
