Through engagement and strategic planning, the Office of Sustainability cultivates a culture of sustainability at Georgetown, bridges practice with learning and research, while supporting the university in taking institutional action on issues related to sustainability on campus, in administrative operations, and in the local community. Georgetown’s Office of Sustainability partners with the Earth Commons Institute to bridge the university’s ambitious sustainability practice with the institute’s environmental education and research capacity to develop learning and discovery opportunities on urgently-needed solutions. The Manager, Administration and Analysis is a key position within the Georgetown University Office of Sustainability; supporting the implementation, performance tracking, and reporting of university-wide sustainability initiatives. The Manager, Administration and Analysis is a self-directed leader and team player who takes initiative, anticipates needs, ensures consistent high-quality products and materials, and adapts to evolving situations. The candidate will lead Office of Sustainability special projects by supporting full-life cycle project management processes for sustainability initiatives; effectively communicating project/program details with participants or campus partners; developing marketing and other forms of program related correspondence; conduct project assessment and benchmarking and managing project schedules to ensure the efficient evolution of the program overtime. Additional duties include, but are not limited to: Identifying grant opportunities that can benefit sustainability operations and the culture of sustainability Monitoring the allocation of grant funding to internal partners and the execution of university grant requirements Managing Georgetown systems for the Office of Sustainability including: owning/updating sustainability office file systems (Box, Google drive) Supporting new employee hiring and onboarding Providing ongoing support to the team Monitoring the office budget Managing vendor contracts, purchases, and invoices Supporting the process of financial transactions for travel or program resources required by members of the Office of Sustainability Work Interactions The Manager, Administration and Analysis reports to the AVP, Sustainable Business Operations. The Manager, Administration and Analysis supports the AVP, Sustainable Business Operations, who leads the Office of Sustainability, in ensuring the sustainability goals of the University are being achieved across all campuses. The Manager, Administration and Analysis manages and facilitates cross-functional implementation teams to address sustainability problems in a large and complex urban setting in collaboration with faculty, students, staff and external partners. This position coordinates across the University and within the Sustainability team to ensure effective operations among various parties. The Manager, Administration and Analysis supports data collection and analysis from internal partners for reporting purposes. This position works on behalf and at the direction of the AVP, Sustainable Business Operations, interacting regularly with key university stakeholders and providing guidance and advice on sustainability related matters. The Manager, Administration and Analysis leads efforts to collect, track, and analyze sustainability data, as well as provide financial and feasibility analysis on projects. Under the supervision of the AVP, Sustainable Business Operations, this person will work closely with partners across the university to manage sustainability reporting for: Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS), the university greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory, the Laudato Si’ Action Plan, and the university internal sustainability plan, as well as other reporting commitments. The Manager, Administration and Analysis also serves as the Office of Sustainability’s in-house business analyst, and will conduct financial analysis, benchmarking, and assessment of project viability from a business perspective.
