About The Position
As Manager of Surgical Pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), you will lead the way in advancing surgical pathology, playing a key role in enhancing diagnostic precision and supporting groundbreaking cancer care. You will ensure the efficient daily operation and supervision of technical employees in surgical pathology laboratories, including histology, immunohistochemistry, cytology, and the morgue, ensuring quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include guiding and managing the functions and activities of non-faculty employees in the Pathology department, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, quality standards, and safety regulations. You will also be responsible for hiring, training, evaluating performance, and making personnel recommendations. Additionally, you will develop operating and capital budgets, monitor budget variances, and assist in vendor negotiations for equipment and laboratory supplies. Continuous professional growth and development through seminars and workshops will be essential to keep abreast of trends in patient service and protocols.
