About The Position

The Supply Chain Manager is a key member of the site's Leadership Team and is responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain process at the plant, from purchasing raw materials to production planning and control, and delivery of finished products. This position leads and drives the deployment of strategic initiatives to manage the flow of materials across the value streams of the plant and ensures it runs smoothly and efficiently. The role has responsibility for Purchasing, Sourcing (non-strategic), Vendor Management, Inventory Management, Production Planning and Control, Receiving, and Shipping. This person is also responsible for building organizational capabilities and driving Supply Chain functional excellence at the site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years Supply Chain Management experience.
  • 3+ years experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Drives and maintains a safe working environment through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, and policy enforcement and compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize the supply chain, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage and oversee the procurement of all goods, supplies, and services to support the production cycle time requirements of the plant. Maintain awareness of market trends, pricing, and availability of materials necessary for production. Develop and maintain effective contacts and working relationships with key suppliers.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers (MRO, and other non-strategic sourcing) and collaborates with the corporate Strategic Sourcing team in the negotiation of contracts, terms, and agreements to secure cost-effective and high-quality materials while maintaining reliable supplier partnerships. Plan and manage the preparation and communication of product specifications for bid and manage negotiations with the most favorable pricing, quality, delivery time, and overall terms and conditions (MRO and other non-strategic sourcing).
  • Develop and manage automated information systems to plan, monitor, and coordinate on-going inventory levels to provide maximum support for the production needs of the plant. Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and develop inventory strategies to minimize carrying costs while meeting production needs. Implement efficient inventory management systems and processes. Drive process improvements and discipline to achieve high inventory accuracy levels as well as high reliability of reports and data in information systems for the plant.
  • The Supply Chain Manager is in charge of scheduling and planning, including demand forecasting and production planning, using the SIOP process to guarantee the timely and effective flow of resources and goods. In order to meet on-time delivery, inventory, and productivity targets, he or she is in charge of making sure planners are collaborating with procurement, suppliers, and logistics teams, creating and monitoring production plans, and evaluating performance.
  • Manage transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities for the plant. Collaborate with the corporate Transportation and Logistics teams to optimize processes and ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials to the plant and finished products to customers.
  • Conduct quality checks on electrical designs to ensure accuracy and reliability. Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions. Proactively address issues related to supply shortages, logistics bottlenecks, or other potential challenges.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma concepts to design and improve the performance of the supply chain function and drive Operational Excellence at the site, including supplier performance, materials management, and logistics. Lead the material cost out initiatives for the facility, including identifying and leading deck building events with suppliers and teams at the plant.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of supply chain professionals. Provides guidance, support, and training to ensure a high-performing and cohesive team. Drive the company's vision, mission, values and compliance to the Code of Business Conduct.
