About The Position

Join AEVEX's FAA Part 145 Repair Station team and play a vital role in supporting aircraft modification and maintenance for both U.S. Department of Defense and commercial aviation customers. AEVEX is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Supply Chain Manager to lead critical operations that keep our missions moving forward. In this role, you will oversee subcontracting, procurement, inventory management, and distribution to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective processes. You will analyze data, forecast demand, build strong supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and implement strategies that drive performance and reliability across the supply chain. Your expertise will help us deliver complex projects for both defense and commercial aviation customers, making a direct impact on operational success and mission readiness. This position is essential to ensuring the highest standards of safety and reliability. Because the role involves safety-sensitive functions as defined by 14 CFR 121, employment requires adherence to the Company's Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program, in compliance with 14 CFR Parts 12, 135, 145, and 49 CFR Part 40.

Requirements

  • Security Clearance- Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Proven experience in a complex engineer-to-order or project-based aircraft modification or production environment
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail and the ability to develop and manage KPI's around material availability, inventory turns and net working capital versus targets, purchase price variance and total cost of ownership improvements, and forecasting accuracy and planning adherence for key materials
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a track record of building positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, customers and colleagues
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, material traceability, and certification requirements
  • Experience working with DoD contracts, FAR/DFARS, and ITAR-controlled materials
  • Experience aligning material and procurement strategies with business goals, including OTIF (on[1]time, in-full) delivery, cost reduction, cash/working capital targets, and quality and compliance requirements
  • Creative problem solving capabilities paired with a strategic, analytical mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite and related tools
  • Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Infor, Quantum, etc.) preferred
  • Directs and provides expert knowledge in the day-to-day function of the department.

  • Provides oversight and direction to the employees in accordance with AEVEX’s policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • 10 years of supply chain, inventory management or other related experience
  • 5+ years’ experience as a manager in a supply chain environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high performing supply chain team through staffing, training coaching, and professional growth
  • Manage department budget and optimize workflows to ensure efficiency and compliance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across programs, operations, and engineering to understand demand and provide guidance on material availability and cost
  • Ensure availability of materials, parts, components, tooling, and services to meet production goals in a complex, low-volume specialty environment
  • Manage inventory planning, control, and optimization for aircraft ratable, repairable, and consumable parts
  • Develop strategies to reduce shortages, excess inventory, and AOG risk
  • Implement cost-reduction initiatives to maximize flexibility while maintaining inventory
  • Maintain compliance for all calibrated tooling and coordinate with operations leadership to prevent coverage gaps.
  • Oversee physical inventory and delivery accurate semi-annual reports to leadership
  • Ensure accurate tracking of serialized parts and life-limited components
  • Oversee shelf-life, calibration and controlled materials
  • Maintain secure, complaint storage of materials and parts in line with regulatory standards (including Government and customer furnished material and property)
  • Ensure full compliance with FAA Part 145, EASA (if applicable), AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and DoD contract and subcontract flow-down requirements
  • Maintain an Approved Supplier List (ASL), monitor supplier performance, set quality and delivery metrics, and qualify new suppliers as needed
  • Maintain material traceability, certifications, and records (8130-3, CoC, trace documentation)
  • Support FAA, DCMA, customer, and internal quality audits
  • Partner with quality assurance to resolve supplier nonconformance and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with contracts to ensure proper flow-down or regulatory, quality, and contractual requirements to suppliers
  • Drive Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including obsolescence and single source dependencies
  • Partner with business operations and business systems to establish KPI's and dashboards for supply chain performance
  • Serve as business process owner for materials planning and procurement workflows using the ERP/MRP and associated planning tools
  • Perform other duties as required
