About The Position

The Manager - Supply Chain Strategy and Transformation at United Airlines is responsible for leading strategic initiatives in inventory management and supply chain operations. This role involves managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost control while improving operational reliability and minimizing aircraft downtime. The manager will also analyze performance metrics and provide actionable insights to support decision-making, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply chain, business, finance, operational management, operations research or engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of relational database models, strong modeling skills, and proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong people skills and ability to develop internal and external relationships.
  • Strong technical, interpersonal, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic problem solver with a track record of implementing innovative solutions.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple and opposing priorities.
  • Keen sense of curiosity, high learning agility, and comfort with ambiguity and rapid change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead key strategic projects for supply chain including supply chain parts investments and implementing inventory policies.
  • Craft and track supply chain metrics while benchmarking against industry standards.
  • Build and handle project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost control.
  • Conduct regular budget reviews to maintain cost control and support financial goals.
  • Analyze and establish system protection levels that support operations at the least total cost.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and prepare detailed reports on performance against plan.
  • Identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, providing actionable insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Improve operational reliability by minimizing aircraft out of service events, delays, and cancellations related to the unavailability of spare aircraft parts.
  • Evaluate demand sources, supplier capabilities, and the strengths and weaknesses of existing supply chain models.
