In this Manager of Supply Chain Management, you will manage all operational, technical, and personnel activities associated with inventory, supply procurement, shipping, and receiving. Manage the timely and accurate distribution of shipments throughout the facility/campus, and to outside entities. Ensures that procurement and materials handling processes are conducted in accordance with company policies. Supervises the procurement of special orders for other departments, maintains inventory and inputs information into the MMIS System. PCMH Supply Chain Services is a 2-person department consisting of a Supply Chain Manager and a Supply Chain Coordinator. This is a small close-knit department. With a 50-year tradition of quality caring, Washakie Medical Center in Worland, Wyo. is a 18-bed critical access hospital with "big city" capabilities. This includes a 64-slice CT scanner, 3D tomosynthesis mammography, 1.5 tesla MRI, Ultrasound, fluro, electronic medical records and a full service, state-of-the-art lab. Our trauma ED is staffed with full-time physicians and our surgery services include 24/7 CRNA coverage including OB epidurals, two general surgeons, orthopedic surgery, and ambulatory treatment. In addition, we provide a variety of wellness activities and feature an active rehab department. Worland sits in the Bighorn Basin area of Wyoming. We are situated 30 minutes from the Bighorn mountains, Wind River Canyon and an easy drive to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Your time outdoors can be spent in some of the most scenic areas of the country. POSITION SUMMARY This position manages all operational, technical, and personnel activities associated with inventory, supply procurement, shipping, and receiving. Supervises the procurement of special orders for other departments, maintains inventory and inputs information into the MMIS System.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Requires the skills, knowledge and experience acquired over three or more years of computerized inventory management and shipping and receiving functions, plus extensive knowledge of healthcare supplies and handling processes.
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
  • Requires sound math and business skills, intermediate abilities in word processing, spreadsheet and/or database software use, and the ability to research and compile statistical reports.
  • Must possess valid state driver's license and excellent driving record.
  • Effective organizational, communication, and human relations skills are necessary as the incumbent will be coordinating several projects simultaneously and working closely with department managers and all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manages operations of ordering, shipping, and receiving functions by assessing daily workload and issuing directives and assignments to staff ensuring proper handling and timely delivery of all supplies ordered, received, and delivered throughout the facility and campus buildings.
  • Achieves departmental goals via the efforts of a competent and motivated staff through appropriate selection, scheduling, training, use of corrective action, communicating, providing feedback, and termination of subordinate personnel.
  • Improves organizational and operational performance. Ensures a cost effective operation by assisting with appropriate budget preparation, monitoring, and controlling of associated department expenses. Identifies and implements methods for reducing operational expenditures of both supply and equipment, while focusing on improving standardization and utilization, resulting in increased efficiency and customer satisfaction. Regularly updates processes and procedures to align with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Builds effective relationships. Interacts frequently with facility staff and physicians to provide high quality services. Assess customer satisfaction levels while obtaining direct feedback regarding the department’s performance, resolves problems, and identifies new opportunities to improve services and cost effectiveness. Promotes a positive customer service attitude both within and outside the department by maintaining effective working relationships. Promotes win-win relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Manages resource and expense use within budgetary guidelines. Provides accurate and timely information for departmental budgets.
  • Regularly responds to requests and needs for materials and supply services from staff and departments throughout the facilitie(s). Provides customer service to managers, supervisors, physicians, nurses, other staff members, patients and/or visitors regarding information on ordering, shipping, and receiving issues and related needs. Drives company vehicles to deliver and pick up items as required.
  • Develops and continually updates work processes to meet changing and growing facility needs for supply chain services. Makes recommendations, devises, implements, and enforces department policies and procedures in conjunction with other members of the leadership team. Works as a member of the system/region materials leadership team to develop and standardize efficient and effective practices.
  • Maintains, updates, researches, and tracks shipping/receiving records for departments, Systems Materials Management, and Accounts Payable. Maintains department records relating to personnel matters, in-service education, accounts payable, supplies received, equipment maintenance, and other related areas.
  • Departmental leader with facility supply chain management responsibility. Incumbent assists all departments with ordering, shipping and, receiving functions. Works under limited supervision using independent judgment to achieve goals. Internal customers are other staff, nurses, physicians, patients, visitors, supervisors, managers and executives. External customers are patients, visitors, vendors, other company facilities, and non-company medical facilities.
