This involves close collaboration with senior management and other identified leaders to monitor quality indicators and outcomes, analyze data, and establish objectives that align with the organization's mission and vision. The Stroke Program Manager is responsible for facilitating collaboration with risk management and safety programs, ensuring compliance with TJC standards and other regulatory agencies. The role requires advanced clinical practice skills, including the ability to conduct assessments and facilitate evidence-based practice across all disciplines in accordance with the latest stroke guidelines. The manager acts as a resource for staff and providers in developing and implementing care plans, maintaining current knowledge and competency in stroke patient management. Additionally, the manager is responsible for maintaining a written Stroke Management Plan and related policies, conducting reviews of their effectiveness, and revising them as necessary. The position also involves developing and monitoring an internal reporting structure for quality management activities, ensuring timely reporting of quality data through a defined multidisciplinary process. The Stroke Program Manager educates faculty, administration, and staff on identifying opportunities for improvement and methods for collecting, analyzing, and reporting findings. This includes identifying learning needs of professional staff and patients, providing education to enhance knowledge, and collaborating on the development of interdisciplinary education plans. The manager coordinates with various departments, including Information Technology and Regulatory Compliance, to identify opportunities for improvement in clinical quality and patient safety. Furthermore, the role includes managing the submission of patient care data into the AHA-GWTG Stroke Registry and analyzing findings to implement interventions that improve quality outcomes. The Stroke Program Manager is also responsible for providing stroke-related education to both internal and external audiences, including planning educational programs for hospital personnel and EMS providers in the community.
