About The Position

Hallmark Media is looking for a Manager, Streaming Technology Solutions for the Hallmark+ Subscription Video On Demand service, with a focus on third-party platforms and integrations. In this role, you will be accountable for defining and delivering Engineering and Technology Solutions in support of Product and Business needs, including overseeing strategic vendor implementations and integrations, as well as ongoing upgrades and releases. Reporting to the VP, SVOD Technology for Hallmark Media, you will collaborate closely with business, product, design, delivery and technology partners to drive measurable business impact. The Hallmark Media tech stack is built on several third-party solutions, and this role is at the nexus of our mission-critical partnerships.

Requirements

  • Strong technology and product management skills.
  • 5+ years of progressively complex related experience managing technical third-party implementations and integrations
  • Experience defining ways of working, and partnering with product teams.
  • Deep experience in the SVOD industry or direct-to-consumer subscription products, with an understanding of the technical and client experience differences between web, apps, and TV platforms.
  • Experience with one or more of the following platforms and/or their direct competitors: Accedo One, Deltatre, Aptitude, Recurly
  • Understanding of how front-end applications interact with back-end API services and understanding of payments/payment processing concepts.
  • Strong understanding of Identity Management Systems, Content Management Systems and Subscription Management Systems.
  • Experience with streaming observability tools such as Conviva, Youbora, MUX
  • Demonstrated experience with app release management in the app stores.
  • Strong understanding of streaming data taxonomy and data supply chains.
  • Strong understanding of personalization and recommendations within the platforms.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and understanding of programming languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Superior relationship-building, influence, communication, and negotiation skills within cross functional teams.
  • Understanding of the Hallmark Media customer target, with an ability to identify and articulate opportunities to help grow audiences.
  • Nimble and flexible about changing priorities & business needs, and managing diverse teams & people.
  • Proven multi-tasking skills, and ability to meet critical deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Define SVOD Platform Solutions - Define and manage the technology solutions for the SVOD platform across streaming, middleware, authentication, and entitlement tools, identifying and balancing business desires, budget, subscriber needs, and technology constraints/capabilities, all laddering up to accomplish the desired business impact. Liaise with other technical leads in the evaluation, building, and integration of technologies.
  • Define and Deliver Middleware Strategy – Partner with internal and external technical stakeholders to drive the definition of our Middleware Strategy, defining business and technical requirements, and ensuring successful delivery and desired business impact. Post delivery, on the ongoing maintenance and roadmap for it.
  • Drive Technical Delivery of the SVOD service growth - Liaise with Hallmark Global tech and vendor partners to prioritize and ensure delivery of key technical integrations necessary for fulfilling our Hallmark+ Subscription experience. Manage delivery of key Middleware and Vendor Partner capabilities.
  • Be the Technical SME – Manage bug backlog. Be the lead subject matter expert who knows the vendor platform capabilities and integrations inside and out, able to effectively identify issues and their root cause, and drive technical team collaboration, integration, and troubleshooting. Able to train and drive adoption by other key partners.
  • Product Partnership – Ensure Product Features and requirements are actionable by technology providers by working closely with business stakeholders and the Product team; oversee implementation plans, product execution, and analysis of results. Create and ensure high-quality delivery via vendor partners, from inception through launch.
  • Manage Stakeholder Expectations - Collaborate with key executive stakeholders, balancing competing interests and needs across the organization to arrive at a clear vision, communicating effectively, and aligning various partners along the way.
  • Advise streaming content partners – Serve as a resource for advising technical operations partners on key elements of media asset management.
  • Serve as a resource to product managers and other technology leaders, assisting them in the resolution of semi-complex problems.
  • Vendor Management – Understand vendor roadmap and optimal implementation of tools. Collaborate effectively with internal and external development partners to ensure appropriate sizing, scoping, and delivery of key initiatives to achieve business impact. Manage integrations of multiple vendors, ensuring strong collaboration and seamless integration points.
  • User Acceptance Testing – Participate in UAT of key initiatives, ensuring high-quality and timely launches
  • Impact Assessment - Define metrics for success and measure the impact of initiative launches.
