About The Position

The Manager of Strategy & Planning plays a key role in advancing Augusta Health's strategic plan vision by coordinating enterprise strategy, planning, and performance management activities. The position supports system growth and sustainability by identifying, analyzing, and facilitating opportunities that enhance Augusta Health's clinical, market, and financial position, including the expansion/rationalization of key service lines, programs, and geographic access. Working under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Strategy & Chief of Staff, this leader partners with executives, operational leaders, and community partners to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, deliver market and competitive insights, and ensure alignment across departments. The role blends business analytics, planning, and facilitation skills in an independent community-based health system where resourcefulness and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Economics, Public Health, or related field
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in healthcare strategy, planning, business development, or analytics within a hospital or health system.
  • Healthcare data management and interpretation
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Power Point
  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Familiarity with healthcare market dynamics, service line development, and health system planning.
  • Understanding of healthcare policy, payer dynamics, and regulatory funding programs affecting hospitals and rural health systems (COPN, state policies, etc.)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
  • Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills across clinical and administrative teams.
  • Ability to learn software for various market analytic tools
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to adapt to change, exercise initiative, pay attention to detail and use independent judgement.
  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, action-oriented mindset.
  • Collaborative and diplomatic; able to lead through influence.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable operating without large support teams.
  • Mission-driven, demonstrating integrity, discretion, and alignment with Augusta Health's values.
