About The Position

We are seeking a Manager, Strategy & Operations to help build and scale an early-stage gig marketplace from the ground up. This role is a hands-on operator and systems builder responsible for designing and executing the core operational infrastructure that powers contractor onboarding, quality, deliverable tracking, and marketplace performance. This is an individual contributor role with broad ownership and high impact. The ideal candidate is scrappy, adaptable, and thrives in ambiguity—someone who can move quickly, work cross-functionally, and serve as a right-hand operator to marketplace leadership.

Requirements

  • Proven experience building processes and systems from scratch and scaling them as the business grows.
  • Strong execution skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver results in ambiguous, evolving environments.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams to build operational tooling or workflows.
  • Analytical and systems-oriented thinker with comfort working in spreadsheets, dashboards, and operational data.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex operational needs into clear requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with gig marketplaces, workforce operations, quality programs, invoicing systems, or legal services operations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and scale the core operational systems that power the marketplace, including contractor onboarding, deliverable tracking, invoicing workflows, and quality programs.
  • Design and implement onboarding processes and training programs for gig workers to ensure readiness, consistency, and scalability.
  • Develop and manage quality frameworks, performance standards, and feedback loops to maintain high service delivery across the marketplace.
  • Own operational workflows for tracking transcripts, invoices, and contractor deliverables, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and timely delivery.
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, sales, and support teams to define requirements and help build the tools and systems the marketplace relies on.
  • Monitor operational metrics, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and drive continuous improvement through process iteration and automation.
  • Act as a hands-on executor and problem solver, jumping into day-to-day operational challenges as needed while building long-term scalable solutions.

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance (for full-time employees)
  • Competitive & Fair Pay
  • Maternity & paternity leave (for full-time employees)
  • Short & long-term disability
  • Opportunity to learn from a dedicated leadership team
  • Centrally located open office building in Sugar House
  • Top-of-the-line company swag
